There were not-so-quiet rumblings this week when reports surfaced that Samsung had filed for patent on what seems to be a new 360º Camera. As all major companies regularly file for design/concept patents, we did not view this as something that was out of the ordinary, there did not seem to be anything to get excited about. Until we saw this.
As you can see from the screenshots below, both cameras seems to be getting a substantial discount, the type you see when an attempt to clear stock is in effect.
Context: Europe’s largest Tech Show - the IFA - is taking place this week in Berlin, as we speak. Samsung has so far unveiled a few things, such as a smart washing machine, but nothing in regards to anything that would have to do with Virtual Reality.
So for now, when it comes to the Samsung Gear 360 Cameras, it is status quo, with the exception of one fact: The Prices are phenomenal for both the 2016 & 2017 models, and if you are looking to purchase a consumer-level 360 camera that can provide near-pro results and a proper introduction into the world of 360 photo & video production, you should jump at this occasion.
Still not sure which one to get? No worries: check out our RVinVR Comparison of both cameras!
