Kendrick Lamar’s HUMBLE Video Does Not Exist Without Virtual Reality

Kendrick Lamar no longer needs an introduction. The prominent Artist is hailed by many as the Saviour of Hip Hop itself. His thought-provoking Music has the ability not only to entertain, but also to inspire, educate, and at times, create controversy. His latest Visual Project for HUMBLE, the first single for the critically-acclaimed album entitled DAMN, has already reached over 140 Million views since its March 30 release. Impressive.

When we at the 360VR Community first saw the video, we all jumped off our seats in pure joy when we immediately realized the inclusion of 360° Cinematography. The sequence you see below uses the Tiny Planet edit style, already well-known by most 360° creators across the globe, but still (despite this amazing video), relatively unknown to the masses.

The Tiny Planet segments were filmed using a GoPro Omni rig mounted on the handlebars of Kendrick’s bike, which in all honesty raised internal questions about WHY anyone is still shooting with this 6-camera rig (so 2016), whose stitching causes more headaches than anything, when a 10-camera rig has been proven to solve all these issues.

Despite that small (cinematography nerd) detail, we are absolutely ecstatic about having our world of VR brought to the world through this video.
