Looks like the new Gear VR‘s Controller is not the last accessory that we will be seeing from Samsung this year. The interwebs are being flooded by leaked documents of patent applications at the USPTO (U.S. Patent & Trademark Office) for (potential?) upcoming accessories for the Gear VR.
Ready for Mixed Reality
The image below shows a patent application for a clear cover to protect your smartphone, with vents to keep it cool, while allowing for the front-facing camera to be used so that you can still see the “real-world” around you. Is Samsung already gearing up (pun intended) for Mixed Reality?!
An Attached Trackpad?

We all understand that filling for patents does not mean that the product will ever actually see the light of day, even less go to market. It is, however, pretty cool to see all the thought and efforts being put forth by Samsung for their Gear VR.
