Logitech today announced an integration with the Vive Tracker that brings the keyboard into VR for the first time. Check out the video for information on their developer program to get early access to Logitech’s Bridge SDK. Logitech cooperated with HTC to create a method that allows you to see and use your keyboard in virtual reality.
Vincent Tucker, Director Of Innovations & Strategy at Logitech said in a statement: “Logitech has a small team focused on understanding and exploring experiences in the Virtual and Augmented Reality ecosystems, and how Logitech might improve those experiences. As part of that exploration, we’ve worked closely with the HTC Vive team and we are ready to share this Beta Experience with the development community.”
The companies created the BRIDGE developer kit, it consists of the Logitech G gaming keyboard, an accessory to attach the Vive Tracker on the keyboard, and the necessary software. The product aims to deliver a more natural way to use physical keyboards when you’re working with virtual reality.
The SDK will be sold for $150 but there are just 50 units available. If there’s sufficient demand, Logitech may build additional kits.
