VIDEO: Melbourne Man Proposes in Virtual Reality during Zombie Game at Zero Latency

Alex Lackovic, a 25yr old carpenter from Melbourne Australia just raised the technology-infused Romance bar by more than just a few pixels. He spent a month working along with 15 Game Designers from Zero Latency to create the perfect setting for his wedding proposal to Kelly, the love of his life.

Kelly had told him many times about her “Happy Place”, which is a beautiful tree that stands in front of her grandparents’ home in South Africa. She’d told him that every time she would reminisce about the happiest moments of her life, they involved the time she spent out there with her friends and family.

‘I had an idea to do a virtual reality proposal, I’m going to drop down on my virtual knee and hopefully she says “yes”.

‘When [the game] ended she was teleported to her favourite place in the world – the tree out the front of her grandparents’ place in South Africa. Every time she thinks about her happiest times she thinks of the time she spent out there with her friends and family.’

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, who broke the news and provided the video above, Alex said he wanted to incorporate zombies into the proposal somehow as Kelly loved zombie games so heading off to play a virtual reality zombie game seemed like the perfect idea.

“I emailed Zero Latency on the off chance that they’d be able to make this a reality and they told me they were excited to be involved… If more people were like Kelly the world would be a better place and I knew I wanted to marry her as soon as I met her – she’s Kelly” Alex said.

Faith in Romance, fully restored. Oh and… What… what is this salty liquid coming out of our eyes?!?! 😭😍
