Samsung Rolls Out Galaxy S8/S8+ Update to Become Daydream Compatible ๐Ÿ™Œ

Fiiiinally!!! The news we at 360VR Community have been waiting ever since mid-May has arrived! Google announced during its I/O 2017 conference that no less than 10 smartphones would be compatible to their Daydream VR Platformย by end of 2017, including Samsung’s Galaxy S8 & S8+ by ”End of Summer”. While I hope this doesn’t mean actual end of summer, the news is most definitely welcomed.

Samsung Galaxy S8 & S8+ owners are now officially the most spoiled of all smartphone owners. We all saw how Samsung was mostly giving away their (fantastic) Gear VR headsets with purchase of the phones. This sure did help the company pad their sales figures of the headset.

Well now, those smartphone owners get to play with yet another cool toy: the Daydream View VR Headset. All they need to do is look for theย update arriving with the software version NRD90M.G950USQU1AQG4ย and NRD90M.G955USQU1AQG4ย on the Galaxy S8 and S8+ respectively.

Truth be told, there is A LOT more content on the Facebook/Oculus-powered Gear VR platform, but there is something particular about the Daydream View and its controller. Currently priced at $99 USD or less on Amazon, etc, this is a great accessory to add to your Galaxy. Pun intended, as always.
